The Midnight Kitchen

Midnight Kitchen is a non-profit, volunteer and worker run food collective dedicated to providing affordable, healthy food to as many people as possible. Based out of McGill University in Montreal, QC we provide free/by donation vegan lunches 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, at 12:30 pm (noon, not midnight!) in the Shatner building on McGill campus.

In 2002, Midnight Kitchen was born out of the desire to make a positive alternative meal accessible to as many people as possible. Our founders recognized the capacity of food to become a powerful organizing and community-building project. A year after the project began, Midnight Kitchen became a service of the Students Society of McGill University (SSMU) and has remained so ever since. This means that we are financially tied to SSMU, and that we are able to operate out of the SSMU Student Centre for free. As a service, we are mandated to serve the entire student population of McGill.

For more information, you can visit us in the Kitchen (Room 304 of SSMU Building), contact us at:midnightkitchencollective@gmail.com, or visit us online at: http://themidnightkitchen.wordpress.com/

Despite popular myth, we have never served at midnight… yet!
